Regulation, licences and registrations for crypto businesses

Regulatory and licensing consulting for crypto businesses launching a project or entering new markets. We review your activities, structure and target countries to identify the requirements, registrations and authorisations that may apply.

I support the assessment and preparation of your project, including MSB registration in Canada with FINTRAC and MSB registration in the United States with FinCEN. Each jurisdiction requires its own assessment: these registrations do not amount to a universal licence to operate.

Who is this for?

For crypto businesses, fintechs and Web3 projects designing a product, preparing a launch or expanding internationally. We review needs in Colombia, Spain and the European framework where applicable, as well as MSB registration projects in Canada and the United States. The scope and need for local professionals are defined according to the jurisdiction.

How I can help

Business model analysis

We review what the project does, for whom, in which countries and with what flows of assets or funds before determining its regulatory position.

Obligations and authorisations

We assess the permits, registrations, requirements and authorities that may apply. In Europe, we consider MiCA or other frameworks according to the asset and service.

Preparation plan

We identify the documentation, organisation and resources to prepare. Support for a specific application is defined in a separate engagement.

Expansion and changes in activity

We analyse how a new service or market affects the project’s obligations, without assuming that one authorisation automatically covers every activity or country.

Frequently asked questions

It depends on the type of cryptoasset and the activities to be carried out. MiCA does not cover all products or business models in the same way. The service and its potential treatment under other rules must be analysed before determining the appropriate authorisation.

A European authorisation should not be assumed to permit activities in Colombia. Each market requires its own analysis of the product, services and applicable obligations.
